Hosted quarterly at the Lancashire FA premises in Leyland, each two-hour session brings together forward-thinking organisations in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Each meeting features a sporting legend, sharing their inspiring journey from elite sport into the world of business.

Dr Dorian Dugmore: Guest Speaker

Dr Dorian Dugmore (PhD Cardiovascular Medicine) is internationally recognised as an expert in cardiovascular health, preventative medicine and wellness. His programmes have won World and European Best Practice awards for corporate wellness.

Dorian has been working in Cardiovascular Medicine and Wellness for 30 years and has written extensively on health, exercise and heart disease.

His doctoral research, conducted within the UK, specialised in cardiovascular medicine and focused on the rehabilitation of post-heart attack patients and was published in the prestigious journal “Heart”.

He was formerly the Director of the world-famous Toronto Rehabilitation Centre in Canada, considered the best in the world for Cardiac rehabilitation.

Dorian is a past Secretary General of the World Council for Cardio Pulmonary Rehabilitation and is currently on the nucleus for Sport Cardiology and Prevention, belonging to the European Society of Cardiology.

Dorian also served as the senior consultant to the LMA at the FA Elite Performance Centre at St George’s Park and invented the Fit to Manage programme, which now looks after a wide cross-section of high-profile football managers and celebrities in his current role at Wellness International.

Dorian has earned numerous awards for his work, including an MEB “Heart of Britain Award”, for services to the community.

He is one of the first British citizens to be awarded a fellowship to the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) for his outstanding work in cardiovascular medicine.

Dorian was recently honoured with a Vistage Speakers Award, recognising 15 years of delivering value to Chief Executives.

As a sportsman, he has achieved similar success, playing and coaching soccer at the highest level, which included four consecutive international appointments as Great Britain’s Coach to the “World Student Games” soccer team.

To date, he has successfully completed 23 full marathons, including chaperoning the then Minister for Sport, Richard Caborn, in the 2005 London marathon.​

He has been featured on British Television a number of times, including a documentary on the “Tonight with Trevor McDonald” Programme, focusing on stress, heart disease and football league management.

Most recently, Dorian was filmed by Eurosport as they shadowed his work with riders in British Superbikes.

He is one of the most sought-after speakers on the subject of Wellness, and speaks all over the World for businesses and organisations that are keen to understand the impact of Corporate Wellness on their performance.
