In a huge recruitment drive two leading companies have set the bar high for apprenticeships.
Amazon has announced they are to offer 40 schemes, which will include in excess of 200 apprenticeships to degree level in the UK. The firm’s UK country manager John Boumphrey stated, “we are proud to have created 1,500 apprenticeships, which will help even more people get the skills that are in demand in today’s labour market.”
Also, BT Group, one of the UK’s largest private sector apprenticeship employers, hasannounced plans to recruit more than 600 apprentices and graduates for September 2022. Which are to include engineering, customer service, applied research, cyber-security, health & safety.
The Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng confirmed that the announcement is “testament to the strength of the British Economy, with gross domestic product back at pre-pandemic levels, employee numbers are at record highs and unemployment falling”.
This is good news for all our employers and hopefully we are on the road to recovery following the pandemic.
