In order to help reduce the number of people isolating and ease the pressure on supplies From 11 January in England and 6 January in Scotland and Wales, those who test positive using an Lateral Flow Test but are asymptomatic, do not have to do a follow-up PCR test.
Before Christmas, the government reduced the self-isolation period for people who test negative on days six and seven – and now further changes have been announced and no follow up PCR tests are required if you don’t have symptoms.
